Who We Are
Jesus is the true and better Senior Pastor of the Church. It's true. It's biblical. It's our only hope!
elder, lead pastor
In 1996 Mark and Tracy moved to Windham, ME to serve under Roger Blundell as associate pastor. Here he worked with many next generation leaders, exhorting them to deeply love Jesus, care for His people, and go anywhere in the world to share His message. In February 2005, Windham Baptist Church called Mark to be the lead pastor.
Mark loves his wife, and his two children - Kaitlyn and Mark Jr. He likes to fish, loves Taco Bell, and makes archtop jazz guitars for a hobby.
Mark’s personal mission statement? “I live and breathe and have my being Soli Deo Gloria; as the well-spring of eternal and abundant life my deepest longings are satisfied in Him alone. Therefore, I drink long and deep and often; this overflows into a fountain of love for my wife and family, while creating an insatiable desire to glorify God through my relationships, my ministry, my community and my world in such a way that others will quench their thirsts in Him.”
Scott and his wife Becky are long-time members of WBC, starting at the church in the early 80's. Both Scott and Becky were called to Christ during their college years through a para-church ministry but realized the importance of the local church to truly experience discipleship. They have three children, two grandchildren and one grandchild on the way. God has blessed them with a great family at home and at WBC where they have watched other children grow up and have children of their own. Becky is a wife, mother and works as an RN at a local medical office. Scott's vocation is practicing dentistry in Portland. He enjoys teaching adult Sunday School and has served as a deacon for several years prior to becoming an Elder. In spite of all his years in ministry at WBC,Scott is re-invigorated in his relationship with Jesus and others as he has grasped the implications of the gospel. "Christ's death has done more than enable salvation, it also is the basis for living life more and more like Christ".
Joel was born in Southern California and moved with his family to Oregon a year and a half later. He received and Associates in Radio Broadcasting in the late 90's and spent 5 years working in Christian AM Radio in Springfield, Oregon. The year 2002 brought a lot of change, as Joel moved with his parents and sister to New England. The second church that they attended once in Maine was Windham Baptist, and Joel settled in after joining the college and career group. Even though he was raised in a Christian home, it was really the early WBC years that brought Joel closer to an understanding of the power and importance of the gospel and great spirit led growth happened.(And continues!!) He served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and then was confirmed as an Elder of WBC in 2010. Joel has been married to Cassy since October of 2003 and has two children, Hannah and Benjamin.
